I got some really nice new markers the other day and I’ve used them on a few pieces. I just put resin over the top of my tetris piece and noticed that the marker smeared all over the place. 
They were supposed to be permanent markers. I’ll be able to fix it, so it will all be okay. It will just take me some time, so it isn’t the end of the world.
