Update: The book is out now on Amazon!
I’ve been asked to do 75 Illustrations for a new book being writting by Edward E. Scannell and Carol Burnett.
I was given a list of headlines and asked to draw basically whatever came to mind. It should be a very fun project even though time is short. I need to do 3 drawings a day for the rest of the month in order to get done in time.
The way I’m working is to first sketch out a few ideas on paper. I then choose my favorite idea and draw it in Illustrator on my Wacom tablet. I really only have 3 rules. Vector images, they can only be black, white, 40% gray and 20% gray, and lines aren’t allowed to be stroked under .25.
It’s going to be a fun project, I’ll update this post with the completed drawings.

31. Brain Lobes Inside a Head
For this drawing I drew a brain with the pen tool, using a textbook for reference. The head is a copy of a sketch by Leonardo da Vinci, from one of his anatomy sketchbooks.
