I’ve been pretty busy this month, what with all my illustrations for McGraw-Hill, the 14 paintings I’ve had commissioned, some design work for SCC as well as other real life obligations. American Idol isn’t going to watch it self you know.
On top of everything else I’ve also done a bit of logo work. Here are some of the logos I’ve been working on this month:
————————————————————————————
These logos are for a trademarked term used by Brain State Technologies.

This was a fun logo. I really enjoy working with negative space. The font is obviously Helvetica Black. If you don’t know that something is wrong.

The logo started as a more complicated brain. I then redrew it and when I was trying to think of things that required ‘conditioning’ I thought of a plant. It then evolved into more of a tree. The brain was rotated to the left to fit better. The font is again, Helvetica black.

This logo is for a personal project.

My frined (mark) and I (ryan) are going to try our hands at an android app. We needed a company name and MArk rYAN combined make mayan.
I started with some mayan glyphs but they just felt too obvious as logos. They looked odd small too. When I think of mayans the first thing I think of is the pyramids. Kinda like when you think of egypt, so naturally I went in that direction.

These logos are for a software suite built by Brain State Technologies.

A think simple font. I drew a circle rather than use the O in the font, and I added a small highlight and shadow to the O.

The ‘O’ in this logo is a CD. Obvious connection really, since it is for a software suite.

The ‘O’ in this logo overlaps the word suite. Another fun piece playing with some negative space. This logo reminds me of the NBC Universal logo though, probably because of the colors I put into the backgroung.

The 3D ‘O’ was a simple Illustrator effect which I then shaded with gradient meshes.
